Appeal Court Ruling - How Does This Affect My Claim?

The Appeal Court has ruled (26th February 2009) that the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) does have the power to investigate the issue of bank charges. It has also advised the banks that to appeal further against this decision would be a waste of time, yet it is looking like the banks are planning to appeal.

If you have a claim currently pending with us, this means it will still be on hold until such time as the banks' fresh appeal is processed, and this could take several months. All our claims are still on hold and we will resume processing as soon as we are able to do so.

The Office of Fair Trading Case – What it means to your claim

The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has launched a case against 8 major high street banks to decide if current account banking charges are unfair, and if so at what level the bank charges should really be.

Most banks have been granted a waiver to temporarily stop handling bank charges complaints and most bank claim court cases have been put on hold until the outcome of the test case is known.

How does this affect my claim?
